After receiving compliments from an editor/author that left me dancing and teary-eyed (happy grateful tears), I now feel confident enough to share my first chapter with more than just my beta readers.
So, in honor of this rainy day here in FL, Chapter 1 of The Kindrily has been posted to my website.
I hope it hooks you. Happy Friday!

Write. Read. Imagine. Create. Learn. Love. Live. Repeat.
I'll have to go read it! Good for you for posting it!
ReplyDeleteYou have good reason to be proud! I jumped right over to read it and it's awesome. I really mean that. I am supposed to be cleaning the bathroom but it held my attention with every word. Hmm, so if the toilet remains dirty I'll have you to blame. ; )
ReplyDeleteGreat start to your story, it's packed full of action, emotion and leaves me wanting more. Awesome start. I'd love to read the rest sometime. Thanks for sharing!
It's so cool when we can start getting feedback that tells us we're improving and getting closer to publication! We all need that and long for it! So congrats on moving one step closer! How exciting!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous writing. You must have really taken time, too, to get right the sensory descriptions of being injured like that, because it's believable and compelling. You should be proud and energized. I can't wait to see it published.
ReplyDeleteI already went and re-read it! Somehow it has a very different feel being all official in PDF form - very magical. Loved it again. Now finish those edits for the rest!
ReplyDeleteVery enjoyable and well written. Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteLiked your first chapter! Interesting concept, and I'm excited to know more about the Kindrily since they're not established yet.
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting us in. It's flawless. No more no less. looking forward for more... or do I have to wait till it's published? That would be just cruel ;-)
ReplyDeleteThanks so much! I've been drowning in my final revision process before querying so I'm slacking on my blogging. But thank u for the support!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen,
ReplyDeleteI read it yesterday? I think? Anyways, it was very, very good. You have such a strong voice and style. I really loved how you played up the eyes angle. And the way you wrote the accident seemed pretty unique to me.
Thanks so much for sharing! :-) I hope you finish your revisions and can't wait to hear some querying news. *grin*
Read it...WOW you pulled me right in. You're very talented! And your website design is fun and nice to look at!
