THE NEXT BIG THING

A week before Christmas I received an email from the awesome author of the Peachville High Demon series, Sarra Cannon. She tagged me in her Next Big Thing post and I almost peed my pants WHILE spitting out coffee all over my screen. I'm telling you, if you like YA paranormal romance go get Sara's whole series. The first one, Beautiful Demons, is free so you have nothing to lose. Try it, get addicted, and thank me later.
As if it wasn't epic enough that one of my author heroines thought I (little ol' me) could be a next big anything, the author who passed the title onto her was...wait for it...Hugh Howey.
Screw six degrees of separation. That is TWO degrees separating me and HUGH HOLY-GODS HOWEY. Or wait, is it only one degree of separation? Maybe I'm only supposed to count the person separating us? Anyway, I am being associated with the likes of Sarra Cannon and Hugh Howey. *dreamy sigh*
The next big thing? Me? I highly doubt it. But even if me being in a big ol' blogger love sandwich with Sarra Cannon and Hugh Howey is as good as it gets, I would die a happy author.
So, I'm a little late to the party, but here are my answers:
1. What is the working title of your book?
Dangerous Depths and Taking Back Forever.  (Yes, I'm working on two books at the same time.)
2. Where did the idea come from for the book?
The ideas continued over from the first books in both of the continuing series, Tangled Tides and Grasping at Eternity
3. What genre does your book fall under?
YA fantasy/paranormal romance
4. Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie rendition?
I have no clue. I'd have to put my faith in the casting people to match what I see in my mind.
5. What is the one-sentence synopsis of your book?
These aren't a true synopsis. I suck at those. But here's some fun lines...
Dangerous Depths: Sometimes loving a sea creature is pure hell.
Taking Back Forever:  Forever is worth the fight.
6. If you plan to publish, will your book be self-published or published traditionally?
Dangerous Depths will most likely be published by Rhemalda, as long as they like the whole story as much as they liked the first 50 pages.
Taking Back Forever will be self-pubbed because I want to be like Sarra Cannon and Hugh Howey when I grow up.
7. How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript?
Still at it. I'll let you know the final count when I'm done.
8. What other books would you compare this story to within your genre?
Dangerous Depths: It's very similar to Tangled Tides. ;)
Taking Back Forever: I don't know. What other books are about soulmates, reincarnation, and superpowers?
9. Who or What inspired you to write this book?
This post would be way too long if I rambled on about all the chaos that is my creative mind.
10. What else about your book might pique the reader’s interest?
That my books will be the Next Big Thing of the future and readers should probably read them now so they can say they knew me when.
Ha.
Kidding.
Sort of?

Now I'm supposed to tag 5 writers who I think will be the Next Big Thing. I don't know if any of these writers have already been tagged, but here are my choices. These folks know how to write a story...
(In no particular order)
