Eren: It was the thick sort of dark that kind of defines the color charcoal, you know, when the night blocks out the stars and swallows the streetlights. Footsteps echoed behind me, but they were in time with mine so it took a while for me to realize they were there. I glanced back. There was movement in the shadows. I picked up my pace but the footsteps kept time with me, echoing through the empty streets of town. By the time my house was in sight I was running. When I turned to close the door behind me and throw the deadbolt, eyes flashed in the darkness..
