I was born and bred in Baltimore, frolicked and froze in Colorado for a couple of years and I'm currently sunning and splashing around Florida with my two beloved dogs. I'm addicted to coffee, chocolate and complicated happily-ever-afters. Due to my strong Disney upbringing, I still believe in fairy tales and will forever sprinkle magic throughout all of my novels.I've been making up stories for as long as I can remember. In high school I discovered my passion for putting my thoughts onto paper, but it wasn’t until my late twenties that I wrote my first novel. No agent or publisher picked up that one, but last year Rhemalda Publishing offered me a book deal for my YA merfolk/selkie story, TANGLED TIDES.
Yara Jones doesn’t believe in sea monsters—until she becomes one.When a hurricane hits her island home and she wakes up with fins, Yara finds herself tangled up in an underwater world of mysterious merfolk and secretive selkies. Both sides believe Yara can save them by fulfilling a broken promise and opening the sealed gateway to their realm, but they are battling over how it should be done. The selkies want to take her life. The merfolk want something far more precious.

The title of the best book I read in 2011 was Fifty Shades of Grey by E.L. James. I just love that series and can't wait to the third book! Thank you! I can't wait to read Tangled Tides!

I would say, hands down, Divergent. In close second was the Hunger Games. I'm going through a dystopian phase ;)

ReplyDeleteThe best book that I read in 2011? That is a hard questions to answer as I have read so many. I think that I will have to go with a series. That would be the Celestra series by Addison Moore. I am so addicted to this one.

Because of his ability to transport the reader into the world of the book, he conveys true emotion easily--even when it's the emotion of a girl. That truly amazes me. Not to mention his wide array of characters :)

It's a toss up between quite a few books for me, but I'll say my favorite was Changless by Gail Carriger. Love her steampunk world!
ReplyDeleteMy fave read of 2011 is undoubtedly Jessica's Guide to Dating on the Dark Side by Beth Fantaskey - vampire novel, I know, but I personally feel that it's much better than the Twilight Saga in many ways, though I'm a large fan of both! The best thing was that Jessica's Guide was free for Kindle for a few days so I grabbed my copy and got seriously hooked!!

ReplyDeleteBest book I read in 2011? Whew, that's tough considering I read about 200 books. Suppose the easy answer would be Murder On The Orient Express by Agatha Christie. (An oldie but a goodie.)Also read Teri Farley's Seven Tears Into The Sea, which was my first look at a YA book about selkies.

ReplyDeleteI read a lot of books during 201, as I've rediscovered reading, so for me my fav book from last year would have to be Rachelle Meads Vampire Acadamy series book Blood Promise. Mind you I love the whole series, but I enjoyed that one most.
