Today I'm posting over at the YA Confidential blog about the making of my TANGLED TIDES book cover. Check out how me, my publisher Rhemalda, and my cover artist, Melissa Williams, went from this...
It's too bad more publishers don't involve their authors like that in the cover art. I'm OCD enough that I get really annoyed at covers that get the details wrong or have nothing to do with the story. LOL
Anywho, it truly is an awesome cover. It's the kind of cover that would pull me across a bookstore for a better look. It just screams, "BUY ME! I'M AWESOME!"
"Will readers of supernatural be drawn to my story even though there are no werewolves or vampires? Only time will tell. I could have followed popular trends and thrown in a blood sucking or howl-at-the-moon moment but that wouldn't be true to who I am or who my characters are. So with that in mind, vampires, werewolves, wizards, fairies, even leprechauns, watch out! There's a group of extraordinary and complex characters patiently waiting in the shadows, ready to give you magical creatures a run for your money. They're called The Kindrily. And while a full moon is beautiful to look at, it only shines once a month. Some stars shine forever, and my people are all about the stars." ~Me (Full Moon Post) www.TheKindrily.com

Wow, that's so awesome to see the steps in how the cover changed and how receptive the artist and publisher was to working with you.
Hey, very cool to see the process!
